Biography: 

Dr. Fonseca is a pediatric anesthesiologist practicing at the Montreal Children’s Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children – Canada. He completed his medical degree and residency at Sao Paulo State University (UNESP-FMB) in Brazil, followed by specialized fellowships in Pediatric Anesthesia and Chronic Pain at ɬÀï·¬ and a Pediatric Anaesthesia fellowship at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, where he also served as a volunteer research associate at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI). His clinical and research activities focus on pediatric perioperative and chronic pain management, with a particular interest in multimodal strategies, regional anesthesia, and pain trajectories following major orthopedic and thoracic wall surgeries. Dr. Fonseca's future projects include investigating interventional treatments for chronic pain and collaboratively assessing the quality of recovery following pediatric anesthesia.
