DESCRIPTION:Abstract  This talk will give an overview of our current resear
 ch in the field of  physiological measurements of quality in the (audio) v
 isual domain. Two  studies will be presented where we used electroencephal
 ography (EEG) and  standard quality measures to gain insight into physiolo
 gical processes  underlying the perception of visually degraded stimuli. W
 e could show  that the brain responses are different for distorted and non
 -distorted  stimuli. An overview of the used methodologies and results wil
 l be  given.
