Monday, December 28, 2009 10:00to11:00

In this episode of Mini-Science, broadcast by the Canal Savoir TV station, Prof. Robert Rutledge will illuminate how the answer to measuring sizes in the universe, it turns out, is as plain as your thumb held in front of your face - and has importance for understanding our place in the universe, and how the physics of stars, and the evolution of the universe, plays out.

To Infinity and Beyond: Space, Stars & the Universe brings you the latest in space exploration by top ɬÀï·¬ researchers and alumnus in this unique multi-disciplinary lecture series. The topic of Mini-Science 2009 is particularly appropriate – the United Nations having proclaimed 2009 the International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009) in commemoration of the first astronomical use of the telescope in 1609.
