Health Law and Policy "On the Ground"

Me Eric Maldoff, C.M., BA'71, BCL'74, LLB'75, is a partner with the national law firm, Heenan Blaikie. His workshop presentation will draw on his profound involvement with the health sector over the course of his career.

He will address the role that juridical knowledge and experience have played in his work associated with the creation and governance of various health care institutions and organizations.

Specifically, he will speak to his experience as vice-chair of the Interim Governing Council during the creation of the Canadian Institutes Health Research (CIHR), his work as chair of the Executive Committee and vice-chair of the Board of Directors of the ɬÀï·¬ Health Centre, and as chair of the Montreal Children's Hospital.

Last, Me Maldoff will discuss the health and social policy implications of his work as Chief Federal Negotiator with the Labrador Innu.

This workshop will be of broad interest to faculty and students interested in the intersection between health, policy and governance questions arising in academic, government and community contexts.

A wine and cheese reception will follow.
