Armen also is a clinician-scientist and leads a breast cancer research laboratory at the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre\, London Health Sciences Centre.\n\nHe has been trained in some of the best Canadian surgical prog rams\, such as the University of Toronto where he completed his clinical t raining in breast surgical oncology fellowship and ɬÀï·¬ where he completed general surgery residency. He is originally from Armenia whe re he obtained medical doctor degree with honors and practiced general sur gery. However\, before settling in Canada he\, with his young family\, fir st moved to Boston\, USA where he\, funded by the US Department of State\, studied at Boston and Harvard Universities and obtained Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Afterwards\, he lived in England \, where he studied at the University of Cambridge and obtained PhD degree in molecular virology and immunology. Subsequently\, Armen settled in Can ada\, after moving to Montreal for his postdoctoral fellowship in cancer r esearch at ɬÀï·¬. Armen has been a part of the world-class cancer researc h laboratories. Some of his prominent cancer research supervisors are 2 mo st distinguished Canadian scientists and the Officers of the Order of Cana da - Professor Nahum Sonenberg at ɬÀï·¬ and Professor Tak Mak at the Prin cess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto.\n\nArmen is a recipient of numerou s awards and grants from various countries\, he published in highly-ranked journals such as Nature\, Science\, Cancer Cell\, PNAS and others. He chi ef-edited and published a book by Springer International on fundamental me chanisms of cancer development and progression and is an author of numerou s book chapters\, abstracts and presentations.
