 . Joe Schwarcz\, BSc’69\, PhD’74\, is Director of ɬÀï·¬\nUniversity’s Off
 ice for Science and Society\, an organization\ndedicated to de-mystifying 
 science for the public\, the media and\nstudents. He is a professor in McG
 ill’s Department of Chemistry and\nteaches nutrition and alternative medic
 ine in the Faculty of\nMedicine. He has received numerous awards\, includi
 ng the Royal\nSociety of Canada’s McNeil Award\, and is the only non-Ameri
 can to\nwin the American Chemical Society’s prestigious Grady-Stack Award.
 \nHe is a familiar face on Canadian television and is known as 'Dr.\nJoe' 
 to legions of loyal radio listeners on CJAD Montreal and CFRB\nToronto. He
  is also the author of half a dozen bestsellers\,\nincluding 'The Genie in
  the Bottle'\, 'That’s the Way the Cookie\nCrumbles'\, and 'The Fly in the
  Ointment'. His latest book\, 'An\nApple a Day'\, was released in January
