 xplorer.\nLibrarians use controlled vocabulary because they know it yields
 \nfor relevant results.  Unfortunately few searchers explicitly\nuse or un
 derstand controlled vocabulary found in taxonomies\,\nsubject hierarchies 
 or the future SKOS of the semantic web for\nexample.  Based on knowledge f
 rom information behaviour and\ninformation visualization the current resea
 rch addresses this\nproblem by developing and testing a 3D virtual reality
  subject\nhierarchy visual representation.  Integrated with keyword\nsearc
 hing\, users will be able to visually inspect subject headings\nwritten on
  labels hovering above circular areas sized to suggest\nthe relative numbe
 r of documents covering the topic.  They\nwill be able travel up and down 
 the hierarchy of broader and\nnarrower terms by following tunnels stemming
  from each subject\narea.  As a result\, searchers will acquire a mental m
 odel of\nthe library contents and associated controlled vocabulary and in
 \nturn\, become more effective searchers.\nBring your lunch. Coffee and de
