 agsdale  is an Associate\nProfessor in the Department of Neurology and Neu
 rosurgery at the\nMontreal Neurological Institute. His research investigat
 es ion\nchannels\, the proteins responsible for the electrical properties 
 of\nnerve and muscle cells. He teaches at the undergraduate\, graduate\nan
 d medical school levels and is especially interested in\ndeveloping educat
 ional programs that enable students to make\nconnections between basic cel
 lular processes in the nervous system\nand complex phenomena like consciou
