 o\nunderstand the science of the Opera by being presented with\nresearch i
 nto our neurological relationship to sound\, which will\nthen be interpret
 ed by Karine Boucher\, Aidan Ferguson et Jérémie\nPelletier performing pie
 ces taken from the Opera de Montréal's\ncurrent selection of works. Dr Rob
 ert Zatorre (Montreal\nNeurological Institute) will provide an introductio
 n to the brain\nand the circuits most relevant for music\, the nature of\n
 specialization of the musician's brain and necessary brain circuits\nfor m
 usical emotion. Dr Boris Kleber (University of Tübingen\,\nGermany) will p
 resent on the basics of song physiology and vocal\ncontrol as well as the 
 nature of the singer's brain and what makes\nit special. Dr Isabelle Peret
 z (Université de Montréal) discusses\nher own research on tone-deafness or
  amusia\, what happens when the\nbrain is out of tune and why some people 
 simply just can't\nsing.\nThis session is co-presented by the Centre for I
 nterdisciplinary\nResearch in Music Media and Technology at ɬÀï·¬\nUniver
 sity\, The Montreal Opera\nand Yelp.\n \n
