DESCRIPTION:Deep Listening® is experiencing heightened or expanded awarenes
 s\nof sound\, silence and sounding.\nIn a meditative atmosphere we will ex
 plore core concepts of\nimprovisation.   Musicians and non-musicians of al
 l abilities\nmay participate in the Deep Listening exercises during the\ni
 ntensive.  All styles and abilities will be welcomed in an\nopen explorato
 ry circle. There will be improvisations with and\nwithout instruments.\nSo
 me of the benefits of Deep Listening practice include expanded\nawareness 
 of time and space\, relaxation that supports musical\nactivity\, an expand
 ing sense of humor\, dissolution of old limits\nand opening to new pattern
 s.  There will be opportunities to\nwork alone\, in pairs\, trios and in l
 arger groups\, drawing on Deep\nListening practices explored in the open c
 ircle exercises.\nOur goal will be to improvise from our meditative listen
 ing in\nsolo\, small ensemble and large group ensemble configurations with
  a\ncreative musical finale of presentations.\nThis session is co-presente

  of the Department of\nPhilosophy of ɬÀï·¬ and the Centre for 
 Interdisciplinary\nResearch in Music Media and Technology at ɬÀï·¬ Univer
