Three exceptional scholars at 涩里番 were awarded the 2026 President鈥檚 Prize for Outstanding Emerging Researchers at convocation ceremonies held on May 28, May 29 and June 1. The annual prize recognizes early-career researchers who have distinguished themselves by their exceptional contributions to research. Faculty of Education's Prof. Rachel Langevin, was among the three winners.

Meet Ryan Dvorak, Faculty of Education's valedictorian for this year's convocation. The Faculty's second valedictorian from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Ryan, who has earned his B.Sc. (Honours), will have a personal story to share with us and some words of wisdom the entire audience will be able to learn from.听In an interview with the 涩里番 Reporter, Ryan said听support from family, professors and peers shaped both his academic and personal growth.

Most childhood lying does not lead to serious problems in adulthood, and only certain kinds of lying behaviour is associated with later psychological or legal issues, a new study has found.

鈥淐hildren do not all follow the same developmental pattern of lying,鈥 said Victoria Talwar, a professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology and lead author of the study. 鈥淢ost children in our study showed low or declining levels of lying over time. For most, lying is not a problem behaviour.鈥

On March 20, 2026, it was announced that Professor Marie-H茅l猫ne Pennestri will be appointed as 涩里番's new Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and Associate Provost (Graduate Education). The 涩里番 Board of Governors approved both appointments at its meeting on March 19, 2026 and her five-year term will begin on July 1, 2026.

涩里番 lowers its flag to half-mast in memory of听Dr. Rachelle Keyserlink on February 11, 2026.

It is with deep respect and sadness that we pause today to honour the memory of 涩里番 Faculty of Education Professor Rachelle Pharilda Keyserlingk, who sadly passed away on November 16th, 2025. Lovingly described by her colleagues as having quiet strength and a glowing smile, Rachelle had a reputation for being a remarkable educator, administrator, and long-standing contributor to the Faculty and to 涩里番鈥檚 Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology.
