The use of disclaimer labels on digitally enhanced portraits could have unintended social consequences for their subjects, according to a study by a team of 涩里番 researchers.

Researchers at the Laboratory for Attention and Social Cognition used beauty filters on a common social media application to gradually edit a total of 300 images of 60 women (from 0 to 100 per cent, 25 per cent at a time). They randomly labelled half of the images as 鈥渆dited鈥 and the other half as 鈥渦nedited,鈥 regardless of their level of editing.

Twenty-eight young people in the Cayman Islands recently became the first group to complete the British Overseas Territory鈥檚 Youth Financial Literacy Programme. The government sponsored program prepares youth for real-world financial challenges and opportunities鈥攁nd it is centered on the 涩里番 Personal Financial Essentials course. The three-hour version of the course teaches youth budgeting, investing and retirement planning.

A recent study published in the Journal of Consumer Research found that white consumers with higher levels of 鈥榳hite guilt鈥 were more likely to buy from a Black-owned business than from a white-owned one鈥攅ven if the Black-owned business was more expensive or had lower customer ratings. 鈥淭he marketplace is becoming increasingly shaped by ideology and values,鈥 says Siddhanth Mookerjee, an Assistant Professor at 涩里番 Desautels and a co-author of the study.
