We develop an optimal control policy model w herein i) treatment capabilities are endogenous\, ii) the social loss due to disease-related deaths is part of the tradeoff in terms of health and s ocial welfare perspectives\, iii) the policymaker's inability to counter t he disease gives rise to growing popular discontent over time\, and iv) no ntherapeutic intervention policy engenders social fatigue over time. We al so allow for partial immunity upon recovery. In many ways\, our model appl ies to the recent pandemic caused by the SARS-Cov-2 virus. In this setup\, we identify which non-therapeutic policy option between mobility restrict ions or securing social interactions most effectively minimizes both the i mpact of policymaker's inability and the ensuing popular discontent and so cial fatigue.\n DTSTART:20210121T160000Z DTEND:20210121T170000Z LOCATION:CA\, ZOOM SUMMARY:Control of an epidemic with endogenous treatment capability under p opular discontent and social fatigue URL:/cim/channels/event/control-epidemic-endogenous-tr eatment-capability-under-popular-discontent-and-social-fatigue-327856 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
