DESCRIPTION:In this series of workshops\, the Graduate Diploma in Legal Tra
 nslation at ɬÀï·¬ invites you to discover different dimensions
  of professions at the crossroad of law and languages. We offer both intro
 ductory workshops to key professions\, such as legal translation and court
  interpreting\, as well as workshops on highly specialized issues that wil
 l better meet the needs of experienced jurilinguists.\n\nIn this third wor
 kshop\, titled Objectif limpidité dans la traduction de textes juridiques\
 , we will examine the case for readability in legal writing and the princi
 ples that should be promoted to enhance the accessibility of legal texts. 
 The facilitator will present examples of situations where clear communicat
 ion is crucial. Participants will have an opportunity to practise with a t
 ranslation exercise.\n\nThis initiative is supported by Justice Canada's A
 ccess to Justice in Both Official Languages Support Fund.\n\nRegister\n\nP
 resenter\n\n\n	Lyne Jolette\n		Certified Translator\n\n	\n		Germanist and transl
 ator by training\, Lyne Jolette began her career at Juricom under the supe
 rvision of Nicole Fernbach\, a legal language professional specializing in
  plain language. From 2010 to 2017\, she taught translation full-time at U
 niversité de Hearst before joining the team at the Centre for Legal Transl
 ation and Documentation as a translator-reviser\, a position she still hol
 ds today. She also collaborates with various universities\, including McGi
 ll’s Graduate Diploma in Legal Translation\, the School of Translation and
  Interpretation and the Faculty of Law at University of Ottawa\, and the P
 ostbaccalaureate Diploma in Legal Translation at Université de Saint-Bonif
 ace\, as both a lecturer and a practicum supervisor.\n	\n\n
