Lise Milne

Dr. Lise Milne is an Associate Professor at the University of Regina in the Faculty of Social Work, and the Child Trauma Research Centre Chair in Intervention and Prevention Approaches Supporting Child and Youth Health and Well-being. She is a Faculty Associate at the Social Policy Research Centre and the ɬÀï·¬ Centre for Research on Children and Families, has been a Board of Directors co-chair and member of the Saskatoon Sexual Assault and Information Centre, and Steering Committee and Provincial Academic representative for Research and Education for Solutions to Violence and Abuse (RESOLVE). Dr. Milne is involved with several national partnerships (Canadian Consortium on Child and Youth Trauma, Childhood Adversity and Resilience (CARe), Alliance Against Violence and Adversity (AVA)) and leads The Child and Youth Trauma Research Incubator (ThRIve) lab at the University of Regina. Dr. Milne’s current research relates to resilience- and trauma and violence-informed practices in child-serving organizations, the neurobiological impacts of trauma, prevention approaches, practice and policy responses to gender-based violence, and knowledge mobilization (). Her research is informed by 15 years of child welfare practice experience in two provinces and a decade at the ɬÀï·¬ Centre for Research on Children and Families. She has engaged in work with the Public Health Agency of Canada regarding child welfare data. Her research is informed by 15 years of practice experience in child welfare in two provinces, and a decade at the ɬÀï·¬ Centre for Research on Children and Families on several projects including Evidence-Based Management in Child Welfare; Building Research Capacity with First Nations and Mainstream Youth Protection Services in Quebec; and implementing Attachment, Self-Regulation, Competency. She was also the coordinator for the Child Welfare Research Portal (cwrp.ca).
