Claire Webster receives King Charles III Coronation Medal

This medal represents a commitment to service and leadership, and reflects the many ways that Canadians contribute to the betterment of society

Our warmest congratulations to Claire Webster, Founder of the ɬ﷬ Dementia Education Program (DEP), who was awarded a King Charles III Coronation Medal during a special ceremony on March 20th at The Royal Montreal Regiment.

This medal honours individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dedication through advocacy, cultural leadership, philanthropy, public service, and other meaning contributions.

Claire was nominated by Anna Gainey, Member of Parliament for NDG–Westmount, in recognition of her service and contributions to the community. Her dedication in advancing dementia education and support for caregivers has made a meaningful impact and reflects her invaluable leadership.

“Claire is the best role model for advocating for persons living with dementia and their care partners,” expressed Dr. José Morais, Professor and Director of the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Academic Lead of the DEP at ɬ﷬.

“She has inspired us about the needs of carers, and her message is reaching clinicians-in-training who will benefit from her teaching throughout their career,” added Dr. Serge Gauthier, Academic Co-Lead of the DEP and Professor Emeritus in Neurology and Psychiatry at ɬ﷬, who remarked that Claire has already established her legacy.

More than just an award, this medal represents a commitment to service and leadership, and reflects the many ways that Canadians contribute to the betterment of society.
