Appointment of Dr. Didem Dagdeviren as Associate Dean, Clinical Affairs and Dr. Ghassan El-Onsi as Assistant Dean, Strategy and Organizational Development

The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Didem Dagdeviren as Associate Dean, Clinical Affairs, and Dr. Ghassan El-Onsi as Assistant Dean, Strategy and Organizational Development, effective June 1, 2026.

Dr. Dagdeviren received her DDS and PhD degrees from Hacettepe University, Turkey. She completed her specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology combined with a Master of Dental Sciences at the University of Connecticut. She is an Assistant Professor and Division Director of Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine and Oral Radiology. As Division Director she has led significant improvements within the Oral Diagnosis Clinic, enhancing clinical workflows, optimizing resources, and initiating the development of a clinical database for research. Dr. Dagdeviren is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.聽

Dr. El-Onsi has been a member of the Faculty since 1999. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from 涩里番 and began his dental education at the University of Michigan. He earned his DDS degree at 涩里番 and completed a General Practice Residency at the Montreal General Hospital. A general dentist with expertise in dental surgery, he has demonstrated strong commitment and leadership in his roles as Director of the Student and Staff Dental Clinic,聽where he oversees clinical operations and development, and Associate Division Director,聽Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In the newly created role of Assistant Dean, Strategy and Organizational Development,聽Dr. El-Onsi will work closely with the Dean and Faculty leadership to advance strategic initiatives, organizational effectiveness, and long-term planning across the Faculty's missions.

Dr.聽Didem Dagdeviren takes over the role of Associate Dean, Clinical Affairs from Dr. Nathalie Morin. Dr. Morin will remain with the Faculty to continue teaching in the DMD program and to help in the leadership transition until her retirement from 涩里番 in 2027.聽
