Homecoming 2025 highlights: alumni and faculty members reconnect and learn

The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences welcomed alumni back to campus to celebrate ɬÀ﷬’s 2025 Homecoming!ÌýOn October 24, Drs. Didem Dagdeviren and Nathalie Morin gave a tour of the Undergraduate Teaching Clinic to alumni including the DDS Class of 2000.ÌýFor some it was a revisit to the place where they greeted their first patients, while for others it was the first time they saw our current clinical facilities since the move from the Strathcona Dentistry and Anatomy building in 2014.

The Homecoming events continued on October 25 with the 2025 Ernie Ambrose Lecture held in a classroom on the premises of the Undergraduate Teaching Clinic. Organized by ɬÀï·¬ Continuing Dental Education, the lecture featured keynote speaker Dr. Marc L. Nevins,Ìýa world-renowned leader in implant and esthetic dentistry, fromÌýthe Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Nevins delivered an inspiring lecture on the latest advances in regenerative and esthetic techniques for natural teeth and implants. He was also presented with the 2025 Ernie Ambrose Award. The award is given to distinguished dentists, educators, or researchers whose contributions to the dental medicine profession reflect the innovation, ethics and human-centered values of the late Dr. Ernie Ambrose, Faculty Dean from 1970 to 1977.

Following the Ernie Ambrose Lecture, Dean Elham Emami held an informal gathering with alumni and participants from the lecture to discuss the latest Faculty achievements and projects, and to answer their questions.Ìý
