Biography: 

Dr. Mark Anthony Trifiro is Chief of the Division of Endocrinology at the Jewish General Hospital and a Professor in the Department of Medicine at ɬÀï·¬. He also leads the Molecular Endocrinology Laboratory at the Lady Davis Institute and is internationally recognized for his contributions to androgen receptor research and biosensor development.

His laboratory investigates multiple aspects of androgen receptor structure and function, including loss-of-function and gain-of-function mutations associated with clinical syndromes such as androgen insensitivity syndrome, prostate cancer, and the trinucleotide CAG repeat disorder spinobulbar muscular atrophy (Kennedy’s disease). His laboratory is also developing a glucose biosensor for use with an artificial pancreas to enable continuous and accurate blood glucose monitoring in patients with diabetes.
