Paraish Misra
Dr. Misra completed his MDCM degree and residency in Internal Medicine at 涩里番, followed by fellowships in Nephrology and Solid Organ Transplantation at the University of Toronto. During this time, he earned a PhD in human pluripotent stem cell biology, investigating how pancreatic islets form during embryonic development and interact with the immune system. He subsequently pursued postdoctoral training at the McEwen Stem Cell Institute, where he investigated reprogramming urinary cells into pluripotent stem cells and explored their potential to regenerate kidney tissue.
At the MUHC, Dr. Misra鈥檚 clinical practice will focus on kidney transplantation, while his research program aims to develop personalized, stem cell鈥揵ased therapies to reduce the need for lifelong immunosuppression and improve outcomes for patients living with kidney disease and diabetes.
