Biography: 

Dr. Filimon obtained his MD degree from ɬÀï·¬ in 2017. He completed 3 years of Internal Medicine residency and 3 years of Adult Cardiology at ɬÀï·¬. Recently, Dr. Filimon completed a 2-year Fellowship (1-year in Cardio-Oncology and 1-year in Echocardiography) at the Perlman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.  

Dr. Filimon will continue to focus his research program in cardio-oncology, with an emphasis on understanding, detecting, and managing immune checkpoint inhibitor–induced myocarditis. Building on his fellowship experience at the University of Pennsylvania, he will combine advanced echocardiographic techniques and biomarker discovery to identify early signs of myocardial injury in cancer patients. He will also explore the application of artificial intelligence to improve risk prediction, automate imaging interpretation, and support clinical decision-making in cardio-oncology. In addition, Dr. Filimon plans to develop and assess tailored cardiac rehabilitation programs for cancer survivors to optimize functional recovery and long-term cardiovascular health. His work will be carried out in close interdisciplinary collaboration with the Divisions of Oncology and Hematology at the Jewish General Hospital, with the overarching goal of advancing knowledge, improving patient care, and building a strong foundation for future research in this evolving field.
