MIF + MSSI: Graduate entrepreneurship panel

Thursday, May 1, 2025 16:30to19:00
Thomson House 3650 rue McTavish, Montreal, QC, H3A 1Y2, CA

While there is a growing awareness and interest in entrepreneurship, for many people it remains an undiscovered country. Full of promise, but completely unknown. In particular, students in sustainability may feel they have even fewer options than their counterparts in business school. To explore this topic, and offer some positive examples of where this path can lead, the MIF is teaming up with the ɬÀï·¬ Sustainability Systems Initiative (MSSI) to present a panel discussion. Join us to hear from the lived experiences of three academic-entrepreneurs: Devendra Pal, Yee Wei Foong and Timothy Morse.

Devendra is a Post-doctoral researcher at ɬÀï·¬. In 2023, together with Professor Parisa Ariya, he successfully applied to the Develop level of the MIF, for the project Patholyzer.

Yee Wei is also a MIF alumnus, for his VoltLeaf project. He has since incorporated and is CEO for this company focused on finding alternative materials for the creation of next-generation batteries. He holds a PhD in Materials Engineering.

Timothy is Vice President of Research and Innovation at Anomera, a specialty chemicals company that launched in 2016. A PhD in Materials Chemistry, his company offers a variety of products derived from nanocrystalline cellulose.

Following the panel, there will be a 5 à 7 with provided refreshments.

Registration is now open.
