 \n\nDr. Ratna Ghosh is James ɬÀï·¬ Professor and William C. Macdonald Pro
 fessor of Education at ɬÀï·¬ in Montreal\, Canada. She was Dea
 n of Education from July 1998 to December 2003. She was appointed a Member
  of the Order of Canada (C.M.) in 2000\, Officer of the Order of Quebec (O
 .Q.) in 2005\, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (F.
 R.S.C.) in 1999. She is also a Full Member of the European Academy of Arts
 \, Sciences and Humanities. Her publications in books\, journals and encyc
 lopedias\, her prestigious grants and teaching reflect her varied research
  interests\, which include education and technology. She has done research
  in Canada\, Asia\, Africa and Latin America.\n\nProfessor Ghosh was featu
 red in the Canadian Edition of Time Magazine\, October 13\, 2003 issue as 
 one of 'Canada's Best in Education'.\n\nIn 2009 she was selected for the P
 ower List published by India Abroad.\n\nShe is the recipient of the YWCA W
 oman of Distinction Award in 1996\, and has received several awards from n
 ational and international organizations. She has held important administra
 tive positions at ɬÀï·¬\, as Director of Graduate Studies and Research fo
 r the Faculty of Education\, and Acting Director of ɬÀï·¬ International. 
 She has had an important leadership role in the development and governance
  of the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute\, which is a consortium of Canadia
 n universities involved in academic exchanges and programs between India a
 nd Canada. She served as its Resident Director in New Delhi\, India\, in 1
 982-83\, and as President of the Institute from 1988-90. She has been on t
 he Board of Directors (as well as the Education and International Committe
 es) of the Canadian Human Rights Foundation. She is on the editorial board
  of several international journals. In 2009 she was elected as the Preside
 nt (2011-2012) of the Comparative and International Education Society of t
 he U.S.\n
