Remembering Howard Riggs

Howard Riggs was a dedicated, hard-working professor of math education. His work ethic was a product of his Prairie upbringing and his deep commitment to his students. He was hired by ɬ�﷬ to teach social studies, but was pressed into service as a math educator in the Department of Elementary Education, one of the units that eventually morphed into DISE.

We are proud to announce that Dr. Nanre Nafziger, DISE, is a 2025 National Academy of Education (NAEd)/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellow. Her research topic is Contestations for Nigerian History Education in Primary and Secondary Schools: from Colonialism to Neocolonialism. This year, the selection committee, comprised of leading scholars in education research, selected 25 fellows from an extremely competitive pool of 270 education scholars.

KPE Alumna Savannah King a Featured ɬ�﷬24 Ambassador

Olympic medalist in swimming, Savannah King is a graduate of the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education who went on to work as a Project Administrator within the department before becoming Associate Coach and Social Media Coordinator for the ɬ�﷬ Varsity Swim Team. Selected as a ɬ�﷬24 ambassador for the University's Day of Giving, she is lending her support to ɬ�﷬ in advocating for student-athletes during the 24-hour fundraiser.
