AReNA, Québec’s RNA Hub, is inviting everyone involved in the field of RNA in Québec—researchers, innovators, institutions, partners, anyone curious about the field, as well as experts—to attend the event "From Mission to Action" on October 16, 2025 at the BAnQ in Montréal.

This event is intended to celebrate a year of collective impact with presentations, discussions and networking, as well as to reconnect and collectively reflect on RNA therapies in Québec.

The Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) has announced new leadership across several initiatives, including the appointment of David Bujold, Data Team Lead at the Canadian Centre for Computational Genomics (C3G)and Bioinformatics Manager at ɬ�﷬’s Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Institute of Genomic Medicine, as Co-Lead of the Discovery Work Stream.

D2R | DNA to RNA is launching the next round of funding for the Translational Impact Research (TIR) program. This program supports a select few large-scale translational research projects in RNA-based therapeutics which are expected to have a measurable impact on the health of Canadians. Projects must address the D2R Initiative’s strategic priorities and priority disease areas: oncology, rare diseases, infectious diseases, cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases.

Long dismissed as “junk,” viral fragments buried in human DNA may help regulate our genes, according to a new international study co-led by Guillaume Bourque, professor in ɬ�﷬’s Department of Human Genetics, D2R-funded researcher and member of the D2R Research Steering Committee and Executive (RSC). The findings offer new insights into what makes us human, 25 years after the human genome was first mapped.

D2R launches a call for applications for the Postdoctoral Scholar Awards funding program.

A foundational goal of D2R is to help cultivate the next generation of researchers. Being a D2R Scholar is the highest recognition available to D2R trainees and the awards recognize outstanding and active trainees performing research across all of D2R’s Foundational Axes.

The Postdoctoral Scholar Awards both financially support and leading-edge interdisciplinary and intersectoral training through the D2R Training Program.
