DESCRIPTION:As municipalities and governments are increasingly called upon 
 to accelerate the ecological transition\, the development of sustainable m
 obility has become a major strategic priority. Strengthening cycling infra
 structure plays a central role in this shift\, contributing to the reducti
 on of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions\, the improvement of urban quality of
  life\, and the promotion of more active and inclusive modes of transporta
 tion.\n\nThe Bieler School of Environment at ɬÀï·¬\, the McGil
 l Sustainable Growth Initiative\, and Vélo Québec invite you to save the m
 orning of Tuesday\, September 30\, 2025\, for an event dedicated to sharin
 g the findings of the ACCEPTER research project—a project developed by pro
 fessors Kevin Manaugh (ɬÀï·¬) and Owen Waygood (Polytechnique Montréal) a
 imed at promoting sustainable urban mobility through cycling and reducing 
 GHG emissions from car use. The morning will conclude with a keynote lectu
 re by Dr. Meghan Winters\, Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at 
 Simon Fraser University. The afternoon (by invitation only) will continue 
 with breakout workshop sessions for collaborative reflection\, the develop
 ment of policy recommendations\, and early planning for a major partnershi
 p grant proposal under the NSERC Alliance Advantage program.\n\nThis resea
 rch project\, funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et techn
 ologies (FRQNT)\, aims to advance sustainable urban mobility through cycli
 ng by addressing the environmental\, social\, and health challenges associ

 \n\nMeghan Winters is a Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Sim
 on Fraser University (Burnaby\, BC). She leads the Cities\, Health\, and A
 ctive Transportation Research Lab (CHATR Lab)\, which focuses on how urban
  design influences mobility\, safety\, and health\, as well as how equity 
 is considered in city planning and policy.\n\nShe and her team work with p
 olicymakers and community groups at the intersection of health\, urban pla
 nning\, and transportation to generate evidence and develop practical tool
 s that help shape livable\, sustainable\, and equitable cities. Meghan lea
 ds interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral teams across Canada\, including th
 e INTERACT team and CapaCITY/É.\n\nOutside of work\, Meghan spends as much
  time as possible outdoors—biking\, camping\, picnicking\, and exploring w
