Education Researcher Receive John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF) Funding

Thirty-two 涩里番 research projects have received new funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) for investments in research infrastructure to support their innovative projects, for a total federal investment of $9.7 million.听 These grants will be matched by the Quebec government, doubling their value.听

PhD student in Human Development (Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology), Shubhangi Bhardwaj, was announced as a recent recipient of Dr. Gauri Shankar Guha Award for International Development Education! Bhardwaj was also awarded the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) International Peace Scholarship for Women for the year 2025.

Dr. Tina Montreuil, a researcher at the Educational and Counselling Psychology Department (Associate Member of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences), has been awarded the prestigious FRQS Chercheur Boursier Junior 2 award this past April 2025.听

Harm Reduction and Naloxone Training Workshops

Canada in general, and Montreal specifically, have been facing a drug toxicity and fatal overdose crisis for nearly a decade. While integrated systems of interventions are necessary to address drug-related harms, the use of naloxone has been a key strategy to reduce the acute effect of opioid-involved deaths. Currently, 涩里番 does not offer naloxone trainings to the campus community, limiting students鈥� ability to assist in the event of an overdose.
