She completed an undergraduate degree at Cornell University\, her MA and PhD at NYU\, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Mi chigan. Her research on ethnic identity and discrimination among minoritiz ed young people has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and t he National Science Foundation. She is a Fellow of the American Psychologi cal Association\, the Association for Psychological Science\, and the Acad emy of Behavioral Medicine and Research.\n\nIn this talk\, Dr. Tiffany Yip will present data spanning two decades of research focused on how minorit ized young people make sense of their ethnicity and race as an aspect of i dentity development.\n\nAs part of this work\, Dr. Yip considers embedded\ , multilevel contexts and their interaction such as how proximal contexts such as peer ethnic and racial composition that take places within more di stal contexts such as school composition are implicated in experiences of identity development.\n\nHer work also focuses on ethnic and racial discri mination as a context for identity development and overall adjustment.
