 l and Substance Abuse\n\nMany advances have been made in the development\,
  evaluation\, and dissemination of evidenced-based psychological treatment
 s and preventative interventions for a wide range of child and adolescent 
 problems. Although treatments and interventions are about the children eng
 aging in a certain behavior\, those interventions are designed\, guided\, 
 provided\, managed\, and monitored by one or more “significant adults” in 
 a child’s life (e.g.\, caregivers\, educators\, and mental health provider
 s).\n\nTherefore\, it is imperative that more research\, provider training
  and practice be focused on the critical role that the characteristics and
  behaviors of those significant adults play in the efficacy and effectiven
 ess of treatments and interventions. During today’s talk\, Dr. Páez will p
 resent a framework for understanding the contributions of significant adul
 ts’ behaviors to the success of interventions with children and youth. Als
 o\, she will provide several practical strategies for assessing\, addressi
 ng or guiding the relevant behaviors of the significant adults.\n
