Current research:

Dr. Jacqueline Joza is an Associate Professor of Medicine and cardiac electrophysiologist at the 涩里番 Health Centre, where she serves as Director of the Inherited Arrhythmia Clinic. Her research focuses primarily on conduction system pacing, cardiac resynchronization therapy, and atrial fibrillation ablation. Dr. Joza is the recipient of multiple major grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She is the Principal Investigator of several multicenter clinical trials, including the LEFT HF trial鈥攁 large, randomized study comparing right ventricular pacing with left bundle branch pacing in patients with heart block鈥攁nd the REDO AF trial, evaluating strategies for recurrent atrial fibrillation after ablation. She also serves as Co-Chair of the 2025 Canadian Guidelines on Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices.

Projects:

1. Conduction System Pacing:

-Investigation of ventricular activation pattern changes occurring during left bundle branch pacing implantation.

-Optimizing techniques in conduction system pacing

-Core ECG lab: identifying unique ECG characteristics for left bundle branch pacing

2. Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy:

-Evaluation of heart failure outcomes using novel pacing strategies for optimized resynchronization.

-Identification of novel methods to determine complete resynchronization

3. Posterior Wall Isolation in Atrial Fibrillation:

-Assessment of personalized pulsed field ablation approaches to improve outcomes in atrial fibrillation.
