About Dr. Karen Tong
Dr. Karen Tong received her MD from the University of Montreal in 2016 and subsequently completed a Family Medicine residency at St. Mary鈥檚 Family Medicine Centre in 2018. Upon graduating, Dr. Tong has alternated her practice between the wards at Lasalle Hospital and in her outpatient clinic at Clinique Mednam where she has a full scope family medicine practice and has established a women鈥檚 health clinic. She joined 涩里番鈥檚 Department of Family Medicine that same year as she became a Longitudinal Family Medicine Preceptor and started mentoring medical students. In 2021, Dr. Tong oversaw the clinic鈥檚 transition into a teaching center, as this was when the clinic started receiving clerks for their Family Medicine rotations. Two years later, Mednam officially became a GMF-U, a training site for Family Medicine residents, and Dr. Tong was appointed as its first Postgraduate Site Director.
