Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) interviews to select the Department of Family Medicine鈥檚 next cohort of 113 residents were completed and the results of the match will be revealed on March 3 at noon. If you are in the area, come join us at 5858 C么te-des-Neiges, 3rd floor, for this special annual moment. There will be pizza!
Our graduate student, Jia Lin, won the first prize in the CIHR Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health Talks 2025 Competition, a national knowledge-mobilization event that challenges researchers to communicate clear, evidence-based messages to a general audience.听
Our Distributed Medical Education team launched a 4-part video series highlighting our rural program inside four Cree communities in Eeyou Istchee (釔勧敤釘ㄡ悿 釔娽攨釖�), the Cree Territory of James Bay. Rooted in the Department of Family Medicine鈥檚 shared commitment to social accountability and community partnership, these videos show a behind-the-scenes look at how our future family physicians are learning to practice cultural safety in partnership with the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay. Less positive news: in a questionable move that directly affects research highly relevant to family medicine, the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care, which was on the verge of releasing updated screening recommendations, has been mandated to cease operations and to wrap up its work by March 31, 2026. See the message here sent to all Canadian universities about this issue.

- April 21: Dr. Hirsh Rosenfeld Distinguished Public Lecture in Family Medicine. Professor Alayne Adams will be giving a talk titled Fixing Primary Care in Canada: A Social Science Perspective. Register here.
