Is sues of patient safety and quality of care coexist with challenges with ac cess and affordability. While this is a phenomenon worldwide\, the problem s are especially more in low- and middle-income countries. With the growin g burden of cancer in LMICs\, the relative inadequacy of infrastructure an d human resource\, it is imperative that these countries prepare with inno vative solutions to address these problems. The National Cancer Grid of In dia is a large network of 370+ cancer centres\, research institutions\, pa tient groups\, professional societies and charitable organizations created with a mandate of uniform standards of cancer care\, create adequate huma n resource\, and be a ready platform for collaborative multidisciplinary c ancer research. Increasingly\, these solutions have been opened up for oth er countries\, making this a truly global effort.
