Biography: 

Dr. Yury Monczak has completed his BSc in Microbiology and Immunology at ɬÀï·¬, followed by a MSc and PhD in Molecular Biology at University of Montreal. Following a post-doctorate at the National Cancer Institute in Frederick, Maryland, USA, he has worked as a senior researcher at the Institute of Clinical Research in Montreal. In 1994 Dr. Monczak moved to the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, where he started a molecular diagnostics laboratory in the Division of Hematology. He became an assistant professor in the ɬÀï·¬ Department of Medicine in 2005, and at the University of Montreal in 2015.

Dr. Monczak has worked in the field of molecular diagnosis of hematopathologies for over 25 years and has seen the field evolve from Southern and Northern blots to present-day NGS panels and single-molecule sequencing.
