Negotiations with MUNACA

Following the request for conciliation, the parties held their first conciliation meeting on March 26. Each side met separately with the conciliator to provide an update on the progress of discussions. Based on the conciliator鈥檚 recommendation, the employer will present a comprehensive response to the union鈥檚 monetary and non鈥憁onetary proposals on April 22, 2026.

The objective is to narrow the outstanding non鈥憁onetary issues and focus on the key priorities for both parties.

Negotiations with AGSEM (Academic Casuals) 鈥 February 25, 2026

Since March 2025, the parties have held multiple bargaining sessions to negotiate a first collective agreement. Negotiations are progressing at a regular pace, with both sides engaged and exchanging proposals diligently. To date, the focus has been on non鈥憁onetary topics, and the parties have reached agreement on the majority of the articles.

The union is expected to submit its monetary proposals at an upcoming meeting.

Since October 10, 2024, when discussions on the renewal of the collective agreement began, the parties have met thirty times and have maintained ongoing exchanges on a range of proposals.

Academic Casuals Unionization

Following the petition filed by AGSEM on April 30, 2024, to certify the group of employees occupying a position classified as 鈥樷橝cademic Casuals鈥欌, the Tribunal administratif du Travail, the Quebec government body that oversees unionization, handed down a decision on August 13, 2024, confirming that several Academic Casuals positions were now unionized and represented by AGSEM. The bargaining unit is defined as follows:
