The ɬ�﷬ Institute of Air and Space Law was delighted to participate in the 16th Africa Regional Round of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition, held on 22 and 23 May 2025 at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria, South Africa. Dr. Arnold Agaba (Postdoctoral Researcher and Chair the Research Group on African Air and Space Law) served as a judge during the competition, sharing his expertise and helping to inspire the next generation of African space lawyers.

CASSOA, EASA and ɬ�﷬ Institute of Air and Space Law, wrapped up a crucial 2-day Legal Workshop focused on developing uniform air laws for the EAC partner states. The workshop brought together legal delegates from the national Civil Aviation Authorities and the national Ministries of Transport of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, and Tanzania as well as aviation experts from the East African Community (EAC) Secretariate and Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (CASSOA).

The ɬ�﷬ Institute of Air and Space Law was proud to once again support the 5th US Spacecom Legal Conference in Colorado Springs. This two-day event brought together legal practitioners, academics, and military personnel to explore key developments in space law.

IASL Executive Director Stefan-Michael Wedenig contributed to the discussions with insights on the law of armed conflict and the implications of artificial intelligence. It was also a pleasure to reconnect with many of our alumni and engage in thought-provoking exchanges.
