At the University of Texa s\, she served as the English Literature and Women’s and Gender Studies Li brarian\, the Associate Director of the Center for Women’s and Gender Stud ies\, and most recently as the Education Coordinator of the Gender and Sex uality Center. She has also worked in feminist bookstores\, including as b ook buyer and co-manager of the Toronto Women’s Bookstore\, a racial justi ce-based and trans affirming feminist bookstore. Kristen loves to learn ab out\, discuss\, and work toward racial justice-based queer feminism in eve ryday life. Her book\, The Feminist Bookstore Movement: Lesbian Antiracism and Feminist Accountability (Duke University Press\, 2016)\, was nominate d for a Lambda Literary Award this past summer. She has a PhD in English L iterature and an MS in Information Studies\, both from UT.\n\nHer talk is part of The Feminist and Accessible Publishing/ Communications Technologie s Practices Speaker and Workshop Series. This series seeks to bring togeth er scholars\, creators\, and industry working at the intersections of digi tal humanities\, critical approaches to publishing practices\, innovative communication strategies\, and making research dissemination more accessib le.\n\nNicolas Longtin-Martel of Montreal's feminist bookstore L'Euguélion ne will represent the bookstore.
