In 2019 he was one of three recipients of the OTIP Teaching Award for his contributions to curriculum development\, Black centred pedagogy\, and his work bringing principles of transformative justice to the classroom.\n\nLeRoi is a co-founder and dir ector of Freedom School - Toronto\, a free\, three week program for childr en aged four to ten that was created in response to a lack of humanizing\, self-affirming\, queer-positive educational opportunities for Black child ren in the GTA. Freedom school is about to enter it’s 5th year\, practicin g diverse arts-based programming which teaches children about Black Canadi an and diasporic history\, engages them in political resistance to anti-Bl ack racism and state violence through a trans-feminist lens\, and introduc es them to various approaches to community organizing.\n\nLearn more about Freedom School - Toronto\n\nThis event is arranged by Nadia Moss\, reside nt artist in  The P.
