Yi-Chin Lu HeadshotYi-Chin Lu, MD

Doctor of Medicine-double major in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Medicine
Chang Gung University, Taiwan

Yi-Chin completed her undergraduate degree in both medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine at Chang Gung University in Taiwan in 2020. She later completed her residency training in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in 2024 and went on to become an attending physician in Chinese Internal Medicine at the same institution.

Before beginning her master鈥檚 studies, Yi-Chin鈥檚 research focused largely on Traditional Chinese Medicine鈥搑elated database research, network pharmacology, and emerging AI-related topics in the field.

Yi-Chin鈥檚 interest in medical education grew out of her long-standing reflections on challenges in Traditional Chinese Medicine education. Over time, she also became increasingly drawn to the more humanistic dimensions of medicine, including medical history and medical sociology, which shaped the way she thinks about education, professional development, and the place of Traditional medicine within contemporary healthcare. Her later exposure to a series of foundational training opportunities offered through the Medical Education Research Centre at her home institution further strengthened her commitment to the field and ultimately encouraged her to pursue graduate study in health professions education.

Her current academic interests center on medical education research involving Traditional Chinese Medicine students and residents, particularly professional identity formation, the epistemological tensions between traditional medicine and biomedicine, and the development of learning theory鈥搊riented and evidence-based clinical training programs in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

In her spare time, Yi-Chin enjoys doing handicrafts, exploring new places, and reading fantasy novels.
