The inaugural聽Africa Space Law & Policy Conference聽will take place on聽28鈥�29 May 2026 in Pretoria, bringing together policymakers, legal practitioners, academics, and industry leaders shaping Africa鈥檚 space sector.

Under the theme聽鈥淟aying Firm Legal Foundations for the Sustainable Development of Africa鈥檚 Space Economy,鈥� the conference will explore how international, regional, and national legal frameworks can support innovation, governance, and sustainable growth in Africa鈥檚 rapidly evolving space landscape.

It will be hosted by the University of Pretoria's聽Department of Public Law in collaboration with the Institute of Air and Space Law, and co-hosted by key national stakeholders including the Department of International Relations and Cooperation聽(DIRCO), the Department of Trade, Industry & Competition (DTIC), and the South African National Space Agency (SANSA).
