Exam period access to Nahum Gelber Law Library for Winter 2025

As of Monday April 7, ɬ�﷬ students are able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of ɬ�﷬ (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the April 10 to 30 examination period.

The Faculty of Law mourns the passing of Nahum Gelber, CM, KC, BCL’57, a distinguished alumnus and cherished friend of our community.

Mr. Gelber’s visionary philanthropy made possible the creation of the Nahum Gelber Law Library, inaugurated in 1998. This state-of-the-art facility has since become a cornerstone of legal scholarship at ɬ�﷬, offering students a bright, open, and welcoming space for study and reflection. More than three decades later, the Gelber Library remains a beloved and vital part of campus life.

Andrea Bjorklund receives honorary doctorate

Jennifer Raso wins CALT Scholarly Paper award

She was honoured for her article “Data Entry and Decision Chains: Distributed Responsibility and Bureaucratic Disempowerment in the UK’s Universal Credit Programme”, co-authored with Victoria Adelmant.

The meeting is hosted by the Wainwright Chair in Civil, Comparative and Transnational Law, in collaboration with the ɬ�﷬ Crépeau Centre for Private and Comparative Law.

Proposals for papers to be presented at the Annual Meeting are invited from scholars in all regions and at all stages of their careers, regardless of ASCL membership.

The Faculty of Law was again ranked among the world’s top universities at which to study law by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject in Law and Legal Studies placed ɬ�﷬ Law 41st worldwide.

Since QS introduced the ranking in 2011, the Faculty of Law has consistently placed in the top 50 institutions globally. The QS ranking is based on academic reputation, employer reputation, H-index citations, and citations per paper.
