The ɬ�﷬ Institute of Air and Space Law was proud to once again support the 5th US Spacecom Legal Conference in Colorado Springs. This two-day event brought together legal practitioners, academics, and military personnel to explore key developments in space law.

IASL Executive Director Stefan-Michael Wedenig contributed to the discussions with insights on the law of armed conflict and the implications of artificial intelligence. It was also a pleasure to reconnect with many of our alumni and engage in thought-provoking exchanges.

CASSOA, EASA and ɬ�﷬ Institute of Air and Space Law, wrapped up a crucial 2-day Legal Workshop focused on developing uniform air laws for the EAC partner states. The workshop brought together legal delegates from the national Civil Aviation Authorities and the national Ministries of Transport of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, and Tanzania as well as aviation experts from the East African Community (EAC) Secretariate and Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (CASSOA).

As of Monday, December 1, ɬ�﷬ students are able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of ɬ�﷬ (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the December 2 to 20 examination period.

As part of the fruitful partnership between the Crépeau Centre and the Chambre des notaires, an article on the Institute of Jurilinguistics was featured in the Winter 2025 edition of Entracte magazine (V. 33, N. 4).

The article, written by one of the researchers from the Centre, Tiphaine Dourges, explores the topic of jurilinguistics, introduces the organizing centers, and traces the history of this event, which has been running for 18 years.

The Faculty of Law was again ranked among the world’s top universities at which to study law by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject in Law and Legal Studies placed ɬ�﷬ Law 41st worldwide.

Since QS introduced the ranking in 2011, the Faculty of Law has consistently placed in the top 50 institutions globally. The QS ranking is based on academic reputation, employer reputation, H-index citations, and citations per paper.
