DESCRIPTION:Get a free meal by helping dietetics students prepare near to 1
 50 meals for the John Abbott Food Bank.\n\nɬÀï·¬ School of Human Nutritio
 n Faculty Lecturer Paul-Guy Duhamel is looking for 10 to 12 colleagues and
  students to join him on February 5 and give two hours of their time (betw
 een 11:00 and 13:00). We will make cornbread to accompany the chili con ca
 rne prepared for John Abbott Food Bank/Pantry. Its mission is provide food
  assistance to support John Abbott College’s students in need.\n\nThose wh
 o will have volunteered will also get to experience the meal\, a hearty ch
 ili con carne\, cornbread (of course!) and something sweet.\n\nThis entire
  operation has been planned\, implemented and by Dietetics students as par
 t of NUTR 345/346 courses.\n\nRSVP to volunteer by January 29\n\nSchedule
 \n\n11:00–10:15: Introduction (CC-212)\n\n11:15–12:45: Cooking dessert in 
 the Food Lab (CC-215)\n\n12:45: Volunteer lunch is served (CC-212)\n\nAbou
 t MacShares\n\nMacShares is a team-building group activity in which Mac fa
 culty\, staff and students volunteer a couple of hours of their time to co
 ntribute to creating 100+ meals which are then served by local community o
 rganizations to people in need. The event is part of a management activity
  for students in the Dietetics program.\n\nThis February\, MacShares is lo
 oking for volunteers for three events:\n\n\n	Friday\, February 2: Pudding C
 homeur\n	Monday\, February 5: Cornbread\n	Friday\, February 9: Cupcakes\n\n
 \nVolunteers must RSVP by one week before the event.\n\nQuick Facts\n\n\n	I
 n Québec\, 1 in 10 people are turning to food banks for help in feeding th
 eir families.\n	33% of food bank users are children while representing only
  20% of the population.\n	8% of Food Bank clients are postsecondary student
 s\, a significant increase from 5% in 2019.\n	8% of Food Bank clients are s
 eniors\, a significant increase from 6.8% in 2019.\n\n\nThis project was m
 ade possible thanks to the support from the School of Human Nutrition and 
 Metro Plus Lachine.\n
