His research program is focused on unde rstanding the genetic architecture of complex agronomic traits relevant to boosting climate resilience in maize and sorghum. Most of these traits ar e controlled by many small effect genes that are often missed by the tradi tional genetic and genomic approaches. Furthermore\, these traits are dyna mically shaped by internal and external signals to produce a continuum of temporal and spatial phenotypes that are not fully captured by traditional phenotyping approaches. Dr. Sekhon’s lab develops and refine phenotyping strategies to capture these dynamic phenotypes and use systems-scale integ ration of multi-omics data to identify underlying genes.\n\nAbout the 4 O' Clock Forum\n\nThe 4 o'clock forum was launched at the Faculty of Agricult ural and Environmental Sciences at ɬÀï·¬'s Macdonald campus to create a platform for ɬÀï·¬ Macdonald researchers to broaden their netwo rks and allow them to enhance interactions among the Macdonald faculty and beyond and to highlight the ability to deliver outstanding scientific con tributions. In this forum\, seminars have been organized once a month and are open to all students\, postdoctoral fellows\, and principal investigat ors.\n DTSTART:20241010T200000Z DTEND:20241010T213000Z LOCATION:R3-048\, Raymond Building\, CA\, QC\, St Anne de Bellevue\, H9X 3V 9\, 21111 Lakeshore Road SUMMARY:4 o'clock forum: Unpacking multi-scale phenotypes to reveal the gen etics of leaf senescence URL:/macdonald/channels/event/4-oclock-forum-unpacking -multi-scale-phenotypes-reveal-genetics-leaf-senescence-360277 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
