Update | The DNA to RNA (D2R) website has a new section dedicated to Training. From Master's to Postdoctoral, this space provides graduate students at all levels with access to workshops, events, and resources aligned with D2R’s interdisciplinary mission. Topics include RNA therapeutics, genomic medicine, equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), commercialization, data science, and career development beyond academia.

Please note that due to the STM strike, the Information Desk at the Humanities and Social Sciences Library (McLennan Library Building, lobby) will close early at 5:30 p.m. from Monday, June 9 to Wednesday, June 11. The Humanities & Social Sciences Library remains open for study until 9 p.m. on these days.

Facilities Management and Ancillary Services will be performing a major electrical shutdown at Macdonald Campus Library on Wednesday, July 9, from 6 h to 12 h. The Macdonald Campus Library in the Barton Building will be inaccessible at this time. This shutdown is necessary for maintenance on the Hydro-Québec substation and four transformers servicing the south side of campus.

On July 28, the ɬ�﷬ Libraries website is going to undergo an extensive change. Most notably, the URL to our website will be updated to mcgill.ca/libraries to align with our rebranding to Libraries in Summer 2024. If you’ve bookmarked any favourite pages, be sure to update them once the new URLs go live.

We will also be updating our menu structure based on user research testing completed over the past two years. This new menu better reflects the needs of our users and showcases our wonderful spaces and services.

ɬ�﷬ Libraries closed June 24 & July 1. Three locations open June 23 & June 30.

Ventilation System Work at Macdonald Campus Library Begins May 12

Beginning May 12, construction will take place at the Macdonald Campus Library to address persistent condensation and leaking caused by inadequate insulation in parts of the building’s ventilation system. To carry out this work safely, special precautions are necessary due to the presence of asbestos in the Barton Building. A Sealed Access System (SAS), which allows construction work to be enclosed and contained, will be positioned throughout various library spaces over the course of the project.

Seeds of Innovation: GEFSES Symposium Bridges Continents Through Genome Editing

In March 2025, the GEFSES program hosted its annual international symposium, "Harnessing Genome Editing for Resilient Agriculture," in Ludhiana, India. The event was held in collaboration with Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) and Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU).
