If the abundances of the species involved in a reaction network are small\, then the randomness inherent in the molecular interac tions is important to the system dynamics\, and the abundances are modeled stochastically as a jump-by-jump fashion continuous-time Markov chain. In this talk\, we begin with basic modeling aspects of the stochastic proces ses associated with a reaction network.
