In particular\, migratory movements can be shaped by the costs and risk of parasite transmission. Here\, I will pr esent some of our work using mathematical models to understand how parasit es shape the evolution of animal migration. We use adaptive dynamics to de termine the evolutionarily stable strategy of migratory tendency\, given d ifferent infection scenarios.  Finally\, I’ll use this example to argue th at research is shaped by the identities\, perspectives\, and experiences o f the scientists who conduct it. Perspective shapes the questions we ask\, the systems we work in\, and the processes we choose to explore (as well as the ones we choose to ignore).\n\nFor Zoom meeting please contact coord inator.qls [at] mcgill.ca\n\n \n\nSite web : /qls/sem inars\n DTSTART:20220405T160000Z DTEND:20220405T170000Z SUMMARY:Allison Shaw (University of Minnesota) URL:/mathstat/channels/event/allison-shaw-university-m innesota-338878 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
