DESCRIPTION:Rei Inoue is a Japanese mathematician at Chiba University. She 
 is well known for her work on discrete integrable systems\, in particular 
 the algebraic and geometric understanding of integrable ball-box type syst
 ems. She uses techniques from algebraic geometry\, tropical geometry\, clu
 ster algebras and combinatorics.\n\nShe also studies knot invariants and T
 eichmüller theory by applying cluster algebras.\n\nShe received a PhD in 2
 001 from the University of Tokyo on the topic of algebraic structures of d
 iscrete integrable systems and soliton cellular automata under the supervi
