As such\, they arise naturally in analysis\, geometry\, and mathematical physics. They often are themselves equipped with a natural geometric structure which is interesting in its o wn right. For instance\, the moduli space of SU(2)-monopoles on R3 comes w ith a natural hyperKähler metric. Except in special cases\, they are typic ally non-compact or singular\, in which case a careful study of what is ha ppening at infinity or near the singularity is crucial in understanding ho w the solutions or the geometric structures they parametrize can degenerat e.\n\nIn the complex world\, these issues are important in the compactific ation of the moduli spaces of K-stable (and Kähler-Einstein) Fano varietie s in the light of recent results obtained from the algebro-geometric point of view. In a complementary direction\, the moduli spaces of canonically polarized manifolds have recently been the subject of much attention: the question of the regularity of the potential of the Weil-Petersson metric l eads to a new insight on the geometry of the moduli space of canonically p olarized varieties.\n\nRegistration deadline: May 16\, 2024\n\nParticipant s should make their own lodging arrangements ahead of time and be cautious when contacted by third parties who suggest they are associated with the conference.\n\n \n\nVenue\n\nConference room 6214/6254\n Pavillon André-Ais enstadt\n\nCentre de recherches mathématiques\n Université de Montréal\n 292 0\, Chemin de la tour\, 5e étage\n Montréal (Québec) Canada\n DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20240520 DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20240524 SUMMARY:Moduli Spaces and Singularities Scientific Meeting URL:/mathstat/channels/event/moduli-spaces-and-singula rities-scientific-meeting-357243 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
