Whittaker re duction is a type of Hamiltonian reduction along Slodowy slices that encod es the Poisson geometry of M in the direction transverse to the action of G. We construct a multiplicative analogue of this reduction in the setting of Poisson-Lie groups\, where the moment map takes values in the group G (rather than in the dual of its Lie algebra).
